K9 Helps Officers Uncover 50 Pounds Of Fentanyl

A small town police dog in Siskiyou County has made a big time drug bust. On Thursday Artie the Mount Shasta Police K9 and his handler were called to the Weed Rest Area to assist a traffic stop by the Siskiyou County Drug Highway Enforcement Team. Artie sniffed the air around the car and gave the positive sign, prompting a search that revealed around 50 Pounds of Fentanyl. Considered the extremely concentrated nature of Fentanyl, 50 Pounds represents a massive quantity. The driver was booked into jail for felony transportation and possession for sales.
