A Redding teenager is accused of brutally beating and robbing an elderly man in his home. The 76-year-old victim was sitting in a chair in his Hilltop Drive house Friday evening when 19-year-old Nathaniel Telford reportedly walked in and demanded his car keys and wallet. The victim was punched and kicked, suffering multiple injuries to his head, face and upper body. He was still hospitalized at last word. Saturday morning police say they caught Telford driving the victim’s car and wearing clothing covered with the victim’s blood. He reportedly told detectives he did not know the victim but went to his house to steal his car, adding he knew he could get into the house through the back door because he had done so a few weeks ago. He was booked into jail on multiple charges.
