Authorities Arrest Alleged DUI Driver After 20 Mile Chase

A woman led Redding Police on a lengthy chase into the hills Monday night that only stopped because of road construction. Just after 11 O’clock a suspected DUI driver was reported in the parking lot of Safeway on East Cypress Avenue. Witnesses pointed arriving officers to the car, but the driver refused to yield. A chase ensued, eventually heading east on Highway 299. 20 miles later the car was forced to stop for a road block at the construction zone near Buzzard Roost Road in the Ingot area. The driver still refused to surrender, so Garin the Sheriff’s Department K9 was used to assist in the apprehension. 35-year-old Lyndellisa Brown was booked into jail for DUI and evading.
