A Redding man has been arrested on suspicion of car theft for the fifth time in the past three months. Saturday afternoon a Nissan Sentra was reported stolen from Wilson Avenue. A couple hours later an RPD Officer on Loma Vista Drive near Roesner saw the car go by and made a U-turn as the driver quickly parked the car and walked away. When the officer told him to stop the man took off running. Other officers responded and 35-year-old Khampasong Phaviseth was confronted at Loma Vista and Churn Creek. Instead of surrendering, he ran into the busy intersection. Duke the K9 ran after hi and took him down. After being treated for his injuries, Phaviseth was booked into jail.
