A controversial proposal to place Shasta County Veterans Services under the management and authority of the County Administrative Office will be subject to a vote Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors. The Veterans Service Officer position would be maintained, but would no longer be a department head. The VSO would be appointed and supervised by the CAO, rather than the board. Although some veterans organizations have expressed indifference to the proposal, others are very upset about it, and will likely have a large presence in the Supervisors Chambers Tuesday.
