Low income Shasta County residents can now get on a waiting list for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. Families enrolled in the program choose and lease a unit that suits their needs and budget and the cost of rent is shared between the family and the county. The online application is accessible through shastacounty.gov and the Shasta County Housing Authority’s jurisdiction covers Modoc, Siskiyou, and Trinity Counties, unincorporated Shasta County and the Cities of Shasta Lake and Anderson. The City of Redding has its own program.
