Redding’s new park rangers are on the job keeping crime out of the city’s parks and open spaces. On Tuesday Rangers Jason Rhoads and Eddy Gilmette were on their daily patrol of the new Nur Pon Open Space off Henderson Road when they came across 38-year-old Stephen Ashe. The Shasta Lake City parolee was wanted for absconding from his Tehama County parole registration following his release from prison on convictions of criminal threats.
