Crews Working To Restore Power, Clear Roads After Strong Winter Storm

With strong winds in the current storm going over the area, there are a number of weather-related power outages. Between 2:30AM and 3 O’clock Tuesday morning, around 700 PG&E customers lost their electricity in a wide area from west of Millville to east of Dersch Road and stretching into Whitmore as well. Another 150 lost power overnight west of Knighton Road and east of Highway 273 around Metz Road on both sides of the river. There are also several clusters of outages in Anderson and around 130 along Highway 36 east of Red Bluff.

Winds have toppled trees and blocked a number of North State roads. Trees that are either fully or partially blocking roadways have been reported by the CHP on Southbound I-5 in Anderson, on Deschutes Road near Redbud Lane, on Lone Tree Road off Balls Ferry, on Rock Creek Road near Mining Claim Road in Old Shasta, on Brokeoff Meadows Road off Highway 44, on Adobe Road in Red Bluff, on Olinda Road near Happy Valley Road, and another one on Happy Valley Road near Olinda Road. Cal-Trans, county personnel and PG&E crews are all scrambling to deal with the blockages.
