A man was arrested during a raid of an East Redding laundromat as part of two separate investigations by two separate agencies. 38-year-old Thomas Pierce was suspected of being a child molester by Shasta County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detectives. They got a $2 Million warrant for his arrest that included 15 counts of lewd and lascivious acts and oral copulation with a child under the age of 10, as well as giving drugs to a child and dissuading a witness. The RPD investigation was focused on drug dealing. Pierce was living at the Wash-and-Dry Laundromat on Hartnell Avenue, and police believed he was dealing drugs from there as well. RPD and the Sheriff’s Office both descended on the laundromat Thursday. Pierce was arrested on his warrant and the RPD says they found Methamphetamine and evidence of dealing. The laundromat was inspected by Code Enforcement, and red-tagged as unsafe.
