APD Launches “SNAP” Program To Assist Those With Special Needs

Anderson Police Department has launched a new unit to assist people with special needs who have difficulty communicating with law enforcement or other first responders. The Special Needs Alert Program, or “SNAP”, will have officers trained in communicating with those displaying symptoms of Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Autism, or speech disorders.
