Authorities Arrest 75-Year-Old Man In Cold Case Murder

A Yreka man has been arrested in a murder case from 18 years ago. In July of 2005, 56-year-old Patricia Joseph was reported missing from her home in Fort Jones. She was found three days later in the Klamath River near the Ash Creek Bridge. An autopsy showed she had died from blunt force trauma and asphyxia. The case went cold, but was reopened in 2021. Better forensic technology allowed investigators to re-examine the evidence, leading to the arrest of 75-year-old Philip William Frase. He’s being held on $2 Million bail.
